A Meeting Place
in Stockholm
Despite its position as the economic hub and leading financial and cultural
centre, Stockholm has for many years lacked a modern and central facility
for international congressconferences, symposiums, and events.
Because
of theWith help from the city, the long deferred plans for a new congress
centre will become actual. The currently unutilized site at Klara Sjö,
where the Swedish Post’s sorting centre was
previously located earlier, has during a long time been a part of this
plan. Now, finally, the conditions are right to create a congress centre
worthy of the capital city.
The first step in realizing the Stockholm
Waterfront has already been taken: the site has been purchased by CarVal
Investors and NIAM Fund III together with Jarl Asset Management AB. White
Arkitekter AB has done completed the drawings of the three units entities
which are included in the project: a congress hall which includes banquet
facilities, a hotel with 418 rooms as well as an office complex of ca
24.600 square meters. |
